1977 Japan, set of 30.
Meiji Choco-Balls Stickers. Thanks to my friend Trevor Hopper for the information on these. Choco-balls were sold in Japan in 1977/78 shortly after the July premiere of the movie. They were essentially fat M&M's sold in a small cylindrical tube. The tube was blue and the top was red. In the top was either one of the stickers (shown below, there are 30 in a full set) or a tiny little figure or ship (which are equally hard to find). There was a whole series of snacks/candies made by Meiji with little premiums included. For these, the only ones that I saw for sale in 2004 were running $10 each. That seems pretty steep, being that they are as small as postage stamps and there are 30 in the set, but then they are very obscure.
WANTS FROM THIS SET: All of the ones not pictured (20 more).
Below are two photos of Meijii stickers and promotional material from a Japanese collection, I don't own these. I wanted to post them though, as the source of these stickers is hard to define otherwise... this collector wanted around $2000.00 for the items shown!
