If you are going to start collecting vintage James Bond cards, the set to start with is the 1965 Topps/Glidrose set. This set was the earliest one made in the U.S.A. and shows photos from three James Bond Movies (Dr. No, From Russia with Love, and Goldfinger). The cards were distributed both in wax packs and cello packs. The cards from the wax packs have a stark white cardstock and the cards from the cello packs have a darker gray cardstock - the difference can be easily distinguished from the backs. PSA does not make a distinction between the variations when slabbing them.

The next most important set is the 1966 James Bond: Thunderball set, also made in the U.S.A. by Topps/Glidrose. All photos, of course, are from the movie "Thunderball".

A deceptively hard set is the 1980 Alma Confectionary cards set. These came in small boxes of candy cigarettes, and rarely come up for sale in NM condition .
Maybe the hardest set of all, is the Anglo Confectionary set, with photos from OHMSS.
The "film scenes" set is another that is very hard to find in nice condition. Beware when collecting these, as several reprints do exist. The backs are blank.
Several early sets were made in the U.K. by Somportex. The first was the "Exciting World of James Bond" cards.
And the second was the "James Bond Thunderball" set.
